As a peaceful warrior, I would choose when, where and how I would behave.
With that commitment, I began to live the life of a warrior.

"We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are."
~Anais Nin
So, the question is...where are you right now? Is there something in your life that is holding you back?
In my local travels I was shopping for my fruits and veggies and came across a very knowledgeable woman offering demos for the store. We struck up a conversation over greens, yogurt and rescue remedy. In talking with her and both being practitioners of different venues, I realized that no matter where we are in our walk toward health, there is always somewhere for us to go. So whether you have decided to eat a salad a day, stop eating fast food, delve into the world of raw and fermented or are just mulling all of this information over, there is always something new and exciting waiting for you. You don't have to do it all or know it all right now.
As you gain more knowledge, your viewpoint will change toward what you believe is healthy. I have people come into my office all the time and tell me that they eat healthy. Then they tell me what they eat...it is not healthy. Just because you don't eat fast food, doesn't mean it's all good. There are many hidden carcinogenic (cancer causing) agents in A TON of our foods. As a matter of fact, The FDA just recently approved a viral cocktail that will be sprayed on cold cuts, sausages, hot dogs, sliced turkey, and chicken. To be fair, please read both links below, then decide whether you'll want to eat these foods or feed them to your kids!
Now, after reading these articles, has your viewpoint opened up, just a little? Maybe you've changed, just a little?
Little tip in case you have...Read labels: anything mentioning bacteriophage preparation, AVOID! If you get cold cuts and meats at a restaurant, ask them if they use meats prepared this way. The same rule goes for irradiated foods, and foods that contain hormones and antibiotics.

Thanks for your post! Here is what I would recommend. Don't stress about the exact servings. You have a baby and 5 kids :-)

You should be having protien at every meal. A serving size is about the size of the palm of your hand.

Breakfast could be smoothie w/fruit of your choice for variety, yogurt, protien powder instead of milk and I would put ground flax seeds 1 tbsp and 1 tbsp coconut oil. Your baby (and you)good fats. You could also have eggs for breakfast.

Snack - hardboiled eggs or apple & cheese, yogurt w/fruit

Lunch - Have at least one large or two smaller salads every day. Give it a rainbow effect. Lots of colors. Peppers, tomatoes, carrots etc. You can get up to 5 servings of veg in 1 salad. A serving of greens (spinach, lettuce) is 1 cup. You can add some grilled chicken to your salad and make it a meal.

Snack again - you need the fuel and it will help keep your blood sugar balanced. Celery w/cream cheese, sprouted tortilla w/pb

Have a side of veggie, steamed, raw, sauteed with dinner. Add a serving of grain.

Grains - brown rice, cous cous, quinoa are good choices to explore.

If you don't like milk. Leave it out. Dr. Price is talking about raw milk which is difficult to get in many parts of the country as well as illegal and it can be expensive. Don't forget your water!

If you can't go organic, go local, they often use less pesticides, if not local, then really wash your fruits and veggies. I would rather see you eat fresh than from a can.

Yes, low carb has shown results, you just have to be very careful. If this appeals to you, you should consider Ann Louise Gittleman's Fat Flush Plan, phase 3 only!! Great menu plan, supports you and baby and rest of the kids as well (hubby too). Her phase 3 transitions easily into Dr. Price once you get into the swing of things.

Hope this helps. ~j
