This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and glowing, on sea and continues and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls.

Today, you might simply feel inspired by the beauty of the world around you.

If you want to enhance this focus, you might consider devoting a block of time to spend in a natural setting that fills you with awe and wonder. Oceans, rivers, canyons, and forests would be good places to visit because you can marvel at the power of nature and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds around you.

Wherever you choose to wander today, simply let go of worrisome thoughts and engage fully with beauty and wonder as they heighten your feelings of euphoria.Immersing ourselves completely in beautiful surroundings can lift our thoughts above boredom, petty concerns, and stressful circumstances. Seeking experiences of wonder and awe on a regular basis automatically helps us feel lighter and more carefree. As we spend time in beautiful surroundings, we feel removed from our limited focus and our problems seem to shrink when compared to the raw power and blissful serenity that nature offers. As a result, our mood and mind-set seem to lift and expand, creating a stronger sense of spiritual awareness, inner peace, and abundant joy in all of our experiences.

Embracing the wonder of nature can intensify your feelings of euphoria and make every moment deeper and more meaningful today.

AND/OR

PHYZYKS style

Its begining to look like Christmas!
by Bam on Dec.22, 2009, under Latest Posts, Workouts

Everyone knows the song “The 12 Days of Christmas”. “On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me……” A close friend of mine designed a workout a few years ago using that song as a templet. The workout goes like the song. Do the first exercise, the second, back to the first, to the third, second and the first again. Continue till you get to twelve.
1 bear crawl 50ft
2 burpees
3 v ups
4 turkish get ups
5 swings
6 squats
7 jerks
8 situps
9 rows
10 jumping squats
11 clock taps
12 jumping lunges

You can use single or double bells.
Enjoy! Merry Christmas!

It's time to Celebrate!

'It’s interesting to think of what it would mean to us if we let ourselves wear our nicest clothes and eat off the good china on a daily basis. We might be sending ourselves the message that every day we are alive is a special day and a cause for celebration, and that we are worth it. There is something uplifting about treating ourselves to the finest of what we have. It is as if we rise to the occasion when we wear our best clothes and set the table beautifully, as if for a very special guest. We are more mindful of where we place things, what we are eating, and who is with us. Using the good china, and eating in the dining room might be an invitation to be more conscious of the beauty and grace inherent in our everyday lives.'

With joyful anticipation of your great celebration! ~j

Hey gang!

Seems like my favorite boys are out and on the loose. Living the life, talking the talk, walking the walk.

Berardi, Wolf and now Sissons. I had the pleasure of meeting Mark Sissons last week and he is the real deal. You can get a flavor for him on his blog (Mark's Daily Apple).

I love the fact that the boys have come out of the gate blazing. The primal style of eating is very health promoting and when you combine that with sustainable and conscious habits, well, you pretty much have it nailed. Just remember not to forget your leafy greens, a point that I think is key in a successful primal eating.

So enjoy this interview. Keep it real! ~j

Dr Berardi has many sound principles for healthy lifestyle changes when it comes to exercise and nutrition. Rooted in the wisdom of the past and the knowledge of today's cutting edge science. He is one of my favorites!

He doesn't quite go to the extreme's of a Paleo diet, but he pretty much hits all the key points regarding nutrient timing and quality of food.

Whatever your program is, take to heart that making the changes stick makes the difference. Eating and emotion often come into play especially with the holiday season upon us.

Change is not always easy, but when you commit to options that offer a future with a better quality of life, you want look back and say, YES!

Breathing Excitement into Life

You may yearn for freedom and adventure today. You might also feel restricted in what you can do, which could cause you to want to explore other pathways. Spending some quiet time alone might help you define what kinds of experiences you desire so that you can come up with ideas for making them happen. If you seek more excitement in your life, you might want to pursue activities that inspire you and bring an element of enthusiasm to your experiences. Activities like dance, artistic expression, and athletic games could get your blood flowing and breathe some excitement into your day. You could also consider taking a trip today to an exotic location or explore areas you’ve never been to that are close to home.

Engaging in new activities and exploring new locations can satisfy our desire for more adventure. Most of us tend to be creatures of habit and forget the benefits of having new kinds of experiences. When we begin to feel stifled or bored with our normal routine, we can simply make a decision to step outside of our comfort zones and try interesting activities. Our minds will be stimulated by the input of new sights, sounds, and experiences, and we will begin to feel interested in life again. Even our usual activities can then take on a new air of excitement because we are engaging in them with a fresh, positive attitude. By making an effort to stretch beyond your limiting activities and pursue some new experiences today, you will be calling in positive energy that will transform your life.

Breathe in, breathe out, begin again. ~j

Know Your Food
Eating Close to the Earth

Pertinent little OM today. As we continue to approach the holidays awareness will provide many pleasures of the palate. ~j

The food we eat is a multidimensional aspect of our lives. Food provides us with the energy that enables us to grow and prosper. Yet it can be, and frequently is, much, much more. Our food can be an experience in and of itself if we allow it to be. The dishes we remember from childhood offer unmatched comfort. The act of preparing meals can be an art form of the highest caliber. And the nourishment we derive from this fare promotes wellness within us. But many of us, distracted by daily affairs, forget that the profound pleasures of eating go beyond simple sustenance. We eat foods that are convenient or we eat unconsciously, snacking on whatever happens to be on hand. To understand the true value of food and the impact it can have on our lives, we should acknowledge and honor it by eating close to the earth.

If you have ever shelled and eaten garden-grown peas or bitten into a sun-warmed apple freshly plucked from its tree, you likely understand that there is a marked difference between these foods and those that are processed and stacked on supermarket shelves. Food recently picked contains more of its original life force and thus has a greater store of energy and nutrients. You can ensure you are eating close to the earth—and enjoying the many benefits of doing so—by shopping at a local farmers market and getting to know the individuals who grow your food. If you make the experience of shopping in this way enjoyable, you will be more apt to reject more convenient canned, packaged, and frozen foods in favor of the real delight you feel while browsing stalls of fresh foods nourished by the same soil you can find in your own backyard. You will soon learn what foods are in season in your area and how to prepare them.

As you savor the vivid flavors of juicy ripe fruits and the hearty crunch of unprocessed vegetables, you can also take pleasure in the fact that, by eating close to the earth, you are supporting farmers in your region, connecting with your local ecosystem, discouraging those who would waste precious fossil fuels by carting produce cross-country, and helping to preserve healthy culinary traditions that have existed for centuries.

On Self Knowledge ~Kahlil Gibran

And a man said, Speak to us of Self-Knowledge.

And he answered, saying:
Your hearts know in silence the secrets of the days and the nights.
But your ears thirst for the sound of your heart's knowledge.
You would know in words that which you have always known in thought.
You would touch with your fingers the naked body of your dreams.

And it is well you should.
The hidden well-spring of your soul must needs
rise and run murmuring to the sea;
And the treasure of your infinite depths
would be revealed to your eyes.
But let there be no scales to weigh your unknown treasure;
And seek not the depths of your knowledge
with staff or sounding line.
For self is a sea boundless and measureless.

Say not, "I have found the truth"
but rather, "I have found a truth."
Say not, "I have found the path of the soul."
Say rather, "I have met the soul walking upon my path."
For the soul walks upon all paths.
The soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed.
The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals.

Thanks Jeff for reminding me that sometimes the message is not about me! We are all connected at a very deep level. Busy or not, there is always a little time for sharing. I value and enjoy that those of you who do drop in just might be on the same page that I am today. Thanks!
*
With the busy-ness of the season upon us, it is an incredible time hear that you would know in words that which you have always known in thought. How often do you find yourself completely wrapped up in your head. For me it is usually while I am driving and then, once the destination has been reached, poof. I feel like Chicken Little, 'what were we talking about again?'!
*
Roaming unencumbered in the place inside that is free, fearless, creative and soulful, honestly I find it magical. This time of year often brings emotions and memories from years gone by, or reflection upon our dreams and aspirations of the future. Don't let them slip back into the depths! Allow those petals to unfold even if just a little. Reveal a little more of your soul today, if not to the world, to yourself!

And smile, you are on your path! ~j

"The definition of success--
To laugh much;
to win respect of intelligent persons and the affections of children;
to earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others; to give one's self;
to leave the world a little better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition.;
to have played and laughed with enthusiasm, and sung with exultation;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived--
this is to have succeeded."
~
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Now many people will define success in many ways, but this one kind of sums it up. Really it is about being your true self. Take a little time for yourself today, or tomorrow if you are already scheduled to the nines today. But give yourself permission to breathe, deeply, with intention; permission to nourish yourself with healthy foods and with rest.

Pray, meditate, or just stop for a moment and look at where you are. Can you define happiness enough so say that you are happy? Are you fulfilled enough to spill over on your family, friends and those that come across your path?

Taking just that moment (or more) that you fully deserve to find your giggle, your smile, your joy, will go far in helping you see clearly those choices that are right for you!

Action for today:
Find your theme song. What is the song out there, new or old, popular or obscure that describes you today or inspires you toward tomorrow?

Use your imagination not to scare yourself to death
but to inspire yourself to life.
~Adele Brookman

Hello gang! Yes, behind as usual. Looking forward to some fresh perspective, however, in preparation for new content, I realized that there is a whole bunch of great posts buried in the back!

So, please enjoy a few oldies but goodies as I get back into the habit of posting daily!

This one is inspired by a new client call and concern about Vitamin D levels that were just tested for her. Vitamin D is important for our immune health and some people can't get out in the sun during these cooler months. Also, if they can get out in the sun...they can't convert Vitamin D in the body properly. This does not mean run right out and eat enriched processed products. That is not the solution. The solution is to get educated and then make a decision. ~j

Sunlight and Vitamin D
are little known healers that are often overlooked. We have been so afraid to get any natural sunlight on our bodies over the last 20 years that we are really missing out. Mike Adams, The Health Ranger, says, "Seeking out sunlight in safe, reasonable doses, does wonders for your health and may, in fact, render all sorts of conventional medical therapies irrelevant." Now, Mike is an interesting guy and he is doing a very "good work" in this world. Basically he investingates and publishes, truths from a natural perspective.

Oh, and I agree. The amounts of mis-information that we have been fed...it's just astonishing! In our family, we no longer use sunscreen on a regular basis and we are in the sun a lot down here in Southern California. When we do feel that we will be overexposed, we use a natural based sunscreen that does not include many chemicals and carcinogens.

For many many more details, I highly encourage you to dowload and view the FREE truthpublishing ebook "The Healing Power of Sunshine and Vitamin D." http://www.truthpublishing.com/healingsunlight_p/pdf-cat21258.htm

This special report contains information you probably won't hear from your doctor or dermatologist, because it goes against everything they believe about sunlight. But recent research is proving that not getting enough sunlight is extremely dangerous to your health because it causes vitamin D deficiencies that promote chronic disease.

Now...how long has it been since you've watched the sunrise or set? Those moments will not necessarily provide you with extra Vitamin D, but will provide great enjoyment :-)

Mapping the Inner Journey
Journaling as Meditation

A powerful OM today. Connecting heaven and earth. ~j

Of the countless forms of meditation we can use, journaling offers its own unique benefits. Most meditations help empty the mind of concerns and bring positive ideas from our mental landscape, but journaling helps us anchor that experience in the material world. Not every person is attracted to meditating in seated silence, and journal meditation is a nice alternative as an active meditation. It allows us to trace our journey and see where we have grown and what lessons we may be repeating. By employing a different part of the brain than creative or inspired thought, writing or typing a journal can create a greater sense of connection and union with our physical selves and the world around us.

In working through challenges, it can be helpful to first empty all worries from our heads onto the safe pages of our journal. Fears can be brought to light rather than allowing them to haunt the dark corners of our subconscious. We may even feel heaviness dissipate once our heads are free from clutter, leaving space for inspiration and the creation of positive images in their place. Often in the process of writing out all the details of an event that troubles us, something that had been forgotten will come to the surface, providing a missing piece of the puzzle. Then we can truly begin to come up with answers, and write them down beside the worries to map the way from concern to constructive thought.

For capturing guidance and flashes of inspiration, journaling is ideal. This is especially true in the case of dreams, which often fade as we awaken. While working toward goals, keeping track of progress as well as guidance from readings or divination tools can be encouraging. Though it can be difficult to keep all of our guidance in the front of our minds, if we write it down it can serve as a reminder whenever we need it. We can also use our journals to converse with our higher selves or even the universe. Journaling offers yet another way to unburden mind and spirit, while also creating a record of the present and preserving our hopes and dreams for the future.

"We have the capacity to consciously evaluate our responses to environmental stimuli

change old responses any time we desire...

Hey gang!
I know that I have been MIA with the commentary lately. That facebook thing is so fast and available. But I feel that there is such a shift rising on the swell that I will be spending more time here. So thanks for your patience!

Everything is in a constant state of change. Making a conscious change includes the whole package the physical and mental/emotional/spiritual. Changing your lifestyle for good is about consistency.
  • A dishonest yes to someone else is a no to yourself (Byron Katie). Be true to yourself or at least start learning what that means. Take care of yourself because if you are sick, weak or otherwise distracted in the past or the future, you can't be present in your life. Don't miss out!
  • Share and extra ordinary action or a kind word with those that are part of your sacred circle, family, loved ones, your peeps, pals or just best buds.
  • Find your integrity in your community, even with those that you don't know. Our celebrity examples are certainly showing us what not to do! We are all connected in this life and when you dishonor yourself you dishonor others and vice versa.
Keep it real.

With a grateful heart and a vital force! ~j

Some Swine Flu With Your French Fries?

Russian Scientists: H1N1 linked to Genetically Modified Food

Be aware, be prepared...this is an eye opener folks. Stop eating GMO foods, give your body a chance, keep your immune system healthy so that it can take protect us from these nasty man-made viruses. If you don't know about genetically modified foods, get in the know, now.

Scouting motto: Be prepared...in body and mind. ~j

Below is an excerpt from Winston Kao's newsletter connecting the swine flu virus and fast food french fries. This is one of the number of things that the virus appears to be specifically designed to be triggered by.

The molecular formula of Amylopectin, the responsible enzyme in these potatoes, is variable according to wikipedia.com. Best course of action...first, stop eating fast food french fries (additionally the rest of the fast processed foods too)! Then consider how to detox all those chemicals out.

Amylopectin — Molecular Formula: VariableAccording to http://en.wikipedia .org/wiki/ Amylopectin

Scientists from Russia's Ministry of Health are warning in a secret report to Prime Minister Putin that they have discovered a 'critical link' between the H1N1 influenza (Swine Flu) virus and genetically modified amylopectin potatoes that are consumed in massive quantities nearly exclusively by Westerners and sold in fast food restaurants as French Fries.

According to these reports, the protease enzyme genetically modified in the potatoes being sold through Western fast food restaurants as French Fries to protect against Potato virus X causes an "explosive" replication of the H1N1 influenza virus in the body.

Evidence confirming these dire findings is also supported by the World Health Organization who in their reporting on the current Influenza Pandemic, clearly show that the H1N1 virus is nearly totally confined to those Western Nations allowing their citizens to consume these genetically modified potatoes, and which include: The United States with over 17,000 cases being reported with 45 deaths; Canada with 2,978 cases; the United Kingdom with 1,226 cases; and Australia with 1,823 cases.

Important to also note about the World Health Organization' s statistics on the spread of the H1N1 Pandemic influenza virus is that Chile is the only country in the World outside of The United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia to allow the planting of these genetically modified potatoes due to their Free Trade Pact with the US and who are reporting 1,694 cases of this disease.

Most of the World's largest Nations do not allow the planting of these genetically modified potatoes and therefore are reporting very limited outbreaks of the H1N1 Pandemic influenza, including Russia with 3 cases, China, the world's most populated country, with 318 cases, and India, the World's second largest country, with 16. Who consumes the majority of these GMO French fries? Our kids! This was recently confirmed by the Washington Post News Service that reported:"Of the 5,000 confirmed and more than 100,000 probable cases of swine flu, the average age of infected people is 15; two thirds are younger than 18.

"These reports further warn that though the genetic history of this insidious man-made influenza seems to initially offer some protection for those Nations not consuming these genetically modified potatoes, to believe so would be a "grave mistake" as new evidence is emerging that this H1N1 Pandemic influenza virus is rapidly mutating, and as we can read from these two reports:"The new strain of influenza appears to have mutated to become more infectious for humans."

From the online edition of science magazine Nature reported last Monday, referencing research by a team including Prof. Yoshihiro Kawaoka of Tokyo University's Institute of Medical Science. The surface of influenza virus particles are covered with thorn-shaped proteins, which allows the virus to stick to human cells. After analyzing multiple samples of the new flu virus, the team ascertained that in some cases the new H1N1 strain has mutated, allowing the strain to stick to human cells more easily.

According to Professor Kawaoka, the same mutations have been found in, the highly virulent bird flu, which kills about 60 percent of those it infects. Kawaoka said the virus is still in the process of mutating into a form even more infectious to humans."More ominously to be examined in these reports is the response of the United States to this Pandemic which, to date, is the World's largest infected Nation (reporting 7 more H1N1 flu deaths today) and which has already declared a Public Health Emergency and, just yesterday, passed a bill in Congress allocating $7.7 Billion to prepare themselves for this catastrophic disease.

Seeing Your Perfection
Letting Your Light Shine

We are each born into this world with unique gifts. Within us is a glimmer of the divine, a light that can potentially make the world a more beautiful place. But in many, that light lies dormant, snuffed out by fears and feelings of inadequacy. To spark it is to attract attention, face the possibility of rejection or the responsibility of success, and risk being labeled immodest. Yet when we undermine the light by hiding our aptitudes and quashing our dreams, we deny ourselves and others a wealth of experiences. Your abilities are a part of who you are and when you take pride in them, you affirm the love, esteem, and trust with which you view yourself. Moreover, as you express the light within, you grant others permission to do the same, freeing them to explore their own talents.

For some, we are taught to hide our light from the world since childhood. Relatives caution us that the professions associated with our aptitudes are unattainable. Our peers may be envious of our skills and thus overly critical of the activities we instinctively enjoy. And authority figures admonish us to be humble and avoid showing off. But there is a vast chasm that separates those who let their light shine and those who seek only to draw attention to themselves. When you dare to share your light with the world, the beauty and perfection of your soul become clearly visible. You become a whole being葉he literal embodiment of your vast potential. Whether you are a wonderful dancer, a first-rate cook, quick with numbers, or a natural negotiator, you値l come to understand that you do the world no favors when you hold yourself back.

If you have hidden your light for so long that it has shrunk to an ember, make a list of everything you do well, however impractical, silly, or seemingly inconsequential. Then ask yourself how you can positively utilize those abilities in your daily life. The gifts you were born with were not granted to you arbitrarily. While you may never discover what impact your light has had on others, you can be certain that when you embrace your talents and share them with others, you will spread illumination in the world.

Environmental Toxins and Women
~
Ladies, it's time to get real!

Anyone close to you recently diagnosed with Cancer, Heart Disease, Thyroid, Digestive disorders?? This one is too good not to share...I have been a bit behind on blogging...
sorry, but it is really time to pay attention to the mounds of toxins that are breaking down our bodies and hindering our quality of life!! Not only pay attention, but take action, do something that is well within your power and every day you will be taking a step toward wellness rather than illness.

In time ~j

Environmental Toxins and Women’s Health
Lyn Hanshew, MD
6/11/09

The exponential increase of diseases and symptoms is directly related to the increase in environmental toxins. Over 100,000 toxic chemicals have been released into our environment since World War II 1. A new study by the Environmental Working Group completed in May of 2009 2 found up to 48 toxic chemicals commonly used in everyday consumer products in blood and urine samples of five prominent women environmental activists who live across the U.S. "In everyone we found fire retardants, Teflon chemicals, fragrances, bisphenol A or BPA, and perchlorate" stated Sonya Lunder, MPH. These chemicals have been linked to birth defects, hormonal dysregulation and increased cancer rates. Anila Jacob, MD, MPH notes that health trends in the U.S. suggest that the chemical load plays a role, citing growing rates of autism spectrum disorder, diabetes, and certain cancers. "These chemicals are showing up in people. They can be potent at very low levels of exposure; we know that from animal studies." While the rising number of chronic diseases has many roots, she says, the increased exposure to chemicals is one factor.

“We are walking, talking toxic waste sites,” Nancy Evans from the Breast Cancer Fund stated in 2001 1. Her comments were regarding the CDC report published in 2001 documented the widespread pesticide contamination, high levels of Mercury and phthalates across the U.S.

“I feel stupid, fat and tired” is a common lament of American women. Obesity rates have skyrocketed in the past 20 years with the CDC reporting in June 2009, with 1/6th of Americans overweight and an estimated 39.8 million people affected. Fifty percent of women in the U.S. age 20 to 74 are overweight or obese (The National Women’s Health Information Center). The incidence of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is 1/544 Americans and an estimated 500,000 are affected 12. Thorough evaluation of these people will invariably reveal heavy metal toxicity and correlated neurological, immune and endocrine dysfunction. The disruption these toxic chemicals cause in the metabolic pathways of the neurological, immune and endocrine are well-described and include:

a)Interference with the GTP energy molecule in neurons preventing the proper structure and function of neurons and resulting in neurofibrillary tangles, pathognomonic for Alzheimer’s disease and decreased neurotransmitter production 3. Symptoms would include Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Affective Disorder, and Sleep and Mood disturbance, Addiction, MS, Dementia and Parkinson’s.

b)Interference with thyroid hormone metabolism: Mercury, Lead, Cadmium, and Arsenic block conversion of Free T4 (which is inactive in the body) to the active Free T3. Free T3 is responsible for balanced mood, energy, metabolism, regulation of Glucose and Cholesterol levels, temperature regulation of the body (cold hands and cold feet), central obesity and gut motility required for proper elimination 9,10.

c)Interference with production of ATP energy molecule in mitochondrion of cells: Mercury specifically competes with Magnesium to block the release of chemical energy from the ATP bonds resulting in fatigue, weight gain and low metabolic activity.

d)Toxins negatively affect cell-mediated immunity and antibody production resulting in infection and tumor development.

e)Toxins affect the metabolic pathway of equilibrium of Omega 3 fatty acids and Omega 6 fatty acids resulting in an increase of histamine and leukotrienes. This is the basis of inflammation, allergy and auto-immune reactions.

f)Specific to women is the increased rate of miscarriage. This is reflective of the truism that pregnancy is the number one detoxification protocol for women. The toxins pass from the mother through the placenta to the fetus. The average newborn in the U.S. has over 206 toxic chemicals. Toxins from the mother pass through the breast milk to the newborn, as well 11, 14, 15, 16.

The good news is that the diseases and symptoms stemming from environmental toxins are relatively simple to identify and correct. If the problem is toxicity, then by definition the solution is detoxification. Sub-micronized clinoptilolite zeolite irreversibly binds toxic heavy metals and other toxins and is excreted through the urinary tract without any side-effects. In my research and clinical use, ACZ nano® has proven the most effective chelating agent available to remove toxic heavy metals, chemical toxins and free radicals. Urine provocation studies using this nanomized clinoptilolite zeolite are also an effective way to accurately test and detect the presence of toxic heavy metals. Examples of urine provocation studies can be found at www.resultsrnaresearch.com.

Another key aspect of detoxification is addressing the pathogen load associated with a compromised immune system. ACS 200® by Results RNA® is the only antimicrobial I am aware of, shown to be effective in killing all pathogens tested, including Candida. Candida and other fungi store Mercury in their cell walls. In order to decrease the body burden of Mercury, it is critical to kill the Candida, and to bind and excrete the released Mercury using ACZ nano®.

As the toxins and pathogens are eliminated from the body, the cells, tissues and organs can begin to heal and function. The key to facilitating the healing process is in supporting the endocrine system. Proper laboratory testing must be done. This includes checking Free T3 and Free T4 levels as well assessing the Adrenal function by checking DHEA-SO4, Total Testosterone, Estradiol and Progesterone levels. It is important to understand that the references ranges on the lab report refer to an ill population and do not reflect the optimal ranges necessary for optimal health and function. Bio-identical hormone supplementation is usually required to support the endocrine system as it heals and begins to regain its critical role.

Let’s examine pathogenesis. If a person understands that toxins are truly the etiology of most modern diseases and symptoms, it is then possible to trace the biochemical pathway of cause and symptoms. Fibromyalgia was first described in the Psychiatric literature as a mental disorder only in women. It is now defined as a fatigue and pain syndrome of unknown cause occurring in both sexes with no known cure. In this example, the symptom of pain is often caused by toxins interfering with biochemical pathways involving Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids conversion resulting in increase histamine and leukotriene production causing inflammation and pain. Toxins also generate free radicals and an acidic environment which is damaging to tissues resulting in pain. The fatigue aspect of Fibromyalgia can be caused by interference of toxins with the production of ATP necessary for cellular function and interference with the conversion of Free T4 to Free T3. It has been my experience that when the body is detoxified using ACZ nano® and pathogen load is reduced using ACS 200® and the hormones are optimally balanced that “diseases” and symptoms resolve.

Fuel That Nurtures
Eating Right to Feel Better

At its simplest, food is fuel. Though our preferences regarding taste and texture can vary widely, we all rely on the foods we eat for energy. Most people are aware that it is vital we consume a diverse assortment of foods if we aspire to maintain a state of physical well-being. However, the intimate connection between diet and our mental well-being is less understood. Just as the nutritional components in food power the body, so too do they power the mind. Some foods can impair cognitive functioning and sap our energy while others heighten our intellectual prowess and make us feel vigorous. What we eat and drink can have a powerful effect on our ability to focus, mental clarity, mood, and stress levels.

Food allergies, which don’t always manifest themselves in forms we recognize, can also play a significant role in the maintenance of mental health. Thus, for most of us, even a simple change in diet can have a profoundly positive impact on our lives. Taking the time to explore whether anxiety, muddled thoughts, or inexplicable tension can be linked to a food allergy or food sensitivity can empower you to treat your symptoms naturally. The benefits of a healthier, more personalized diet are often felt immediately. Sugar, saturated fats, wheat, and dairy products are frequently allergens and can stress the body. For people that are allergic, consuming them can cause imbalances in the physical self that have a negative effect on the body’s ability to nourish the brain. Water, fiber, nuts, unprocessed seeds, raw fruits and vegetables, and vegetable proteins, on the other hand, support physical and mental functioning by providing those nutrients we do need without additional subs! tances we don’t.

A balanced, natural diet can ease mood swings, panic attacks, anxiety, and mild depression. Intellectual clarity and agility is improved when the mind receives proper nourishment. Even those individuals who are blessed with the ability to consume almost any food can benefit from a healthier and simpler diet. Since the mental and physical selves are closely bound to one another, we must feed each the foods upon which they thrive.

Feeling a bit stressed?

Here is a great technique for implementing stress reduction, and it really works :-)

Seems a little corny if you aren't used to Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and there are other variations to the patterning, but when I came across this one I found it rather enjoyable. Gary Craig is the founder of this emotional, needle free version of acupuncture. There are many wonderful stories from quit smoking, losing weight to healing old emotional wounds and healthier living. Take a peek.

Daily practice can really make a difference. How long, well that is up to you. There are practitioners available to help you through the process, especially when there are deep seeded emotional concerns, but the online introductions are simple and effective. This you tube is a focused just on the stress, but you'll get the jist nd if you browse a little at tapping.com or emofree.com you will find some other forms of resolution are available to explore.

Here's to living a little lighter:-) hmmmmmm, hmmmmmm, hmmmmm, hmmmmm, hmmmmmm ~j

Blending vs. Juicing

A chapter from Victoria’s up-coming book “Green Smoothie Revolution”

After I published my first book about green smoothies, I have received many inquiries from my readers asking whether blending was preferable to juicing. I also heard that some nutritionists were concerned that blending might accelerate the oxidation of the food. I was very curious to find the answer for myself and decided to seriously research this question.

I conducted a simple experiment. I chose potatoes for my experiment because it is easy to observe the process of oxidation in potatoes. You probably remember an instance when you left a slice of raw potato on your cutting board and observed it turning brown within several minutes. That is why my grandmother used to put peeled potatoes in water, to prevent browning or oxidation.

First, I peeled two potatoes so that the color of their peel wouldn’t interfere with the results of my experiment. I then juiced one potato in a twin-gear juicer and blended the other one in a Vita Mix blender with one cup of water. I placed both cups of fluid on the table and took a photograph of them. I was taking photographs frequently for two days. The potato juice started to turn brown within a matter of minutes and became dark brown by the end of the first hour. The blended potato stayed almost white for two days. The top of both liquids, which was exposed to the air, turned dark almost instantly. I repeated this experiment three times with different kinds of potatoes and various shapes of glasses. The results were the same.
Potatoe Experiment

It was clear that the juiced potato oxidized much faster than the blended potato. Since I am not a professional scientist, I decided to seek the opinion of someone with the appropriate expertise. I went to the local university and consulted with Gregory T. Miller, professor of chemistry of Southern Oregon University. After researching this matter, he wrote the following:

The browning is the result of oxidation of specific biomolecules in the fruit or vegetable. My students study this in lab so I have some familiarity with the process (albeit they are studying the enzymatically regulated oxidation). My wife is also a winemaker and deals with oxidation of her juice/wine or a regular basis. I also possess a huge number of resources on the oxidation topic in the form of biochemistry, medical, and nutritional books. Here are my thoughts:espiratory tract ailments.

Many people believe that the blending process will cause increased oxidation due to thousands of tiny air bubbles getting mixed into the "juice". This effectively increases the surface area of oxygen in the liquid and facilitates the oxidation process. However, in grapes at least, I have observed the opposite to be true. The blended grape stays a truer color much longer. I believe this observation in grapes to be a result of numerous antioxidants released as the grape is blended (breaks open more cells than juicing). I believe this is what you are seeing with the potato, as well.

Potatoes contain numerous antioxidants. This may come as a surprise to many people because of the pale color of many varietals. Among others, potatoes are rich sources of phenolics, flavonoids, carotenoids, and anthocyanins. The concentration of each vary with the type of potato. Since your potatoes are skinless (where the greatest concentration of the tyrosinase enzyme is located), I believe the blending process releases a much higher percentage of these antioxidants from the tissue than the juicing process.

It is also possible that, in many fruits and vegetables, the bulk of the fiber released during blending reduces the oxygen saturation in the solution but, if true, I think this is a secondary issue.

Now I understand why it is commonly advised to drink squeezed juice within minutes of making it, and why smoothies can stay fresh for two or three days in the fridge. Even though I can clearly see the many benefits of smoothies, I still don’t want to completely disregard juicing. One of the main advantages of juice is that it requires next to no digestion and can be absorbed and assimilated immediately into the bloodstream, allowing the digestive system to rest. This important quality of juice allows it to be used by people who suffer from severe nutritional deficiencies or have highly irritable digestive system. People with these conditions often cannot tolerate any fiber at all, and juice may provide invaluable nourishment for them. Later, when their health will improve, these people can switch to drinking smoothies.

I agree with Dr. Doug Graham that juices are a fractured food, which is missing an essential component—fiber. When we consume enough fiber, we take a load off of our organism by improving our elimination. Toxins often build up in the colon and fiber cleans them out. When most toxins have been removed by fiber, then the body has a greater ability to absorb nutrients, thus improving digestion. Humans could not live on juices alone, whereas green smoothies are a complete food.

If I don’t have a blender around me, I juice. One time I gave my blender to my brother because I thought that he needed it more than I. While waiting for my new Vita-mix, I was juicing greens because I could not live without them. While I was juicing, I quickly got tired by the limited variety of flavors, in addition to that, I noticed that I I felt hungrier and I had to add more salads to my menu, as juices were not as filling as smoothies. Contrary to that, smoothies are very filling; I can live on them for days, and even weeks. I know of people who have chosen to live on smoothies for several weeks or months with beneficial results. You will find the extraordinary story of Clent Manich’s green smoothie experiment further in this book.
